Step 1 - we buy orchid

This is really important step, because it determines whether a flower will enjoy our eyes its beautiful look.

What to look out for?
Roots
First of all, watch the roots. They should be firm, not dry and not rotting. The roots may be green (this shows that they have been recently watered) or silver. Both variants are good. You should also check if the substrate does not have mold.

As you can see in the above picture, the rotten roots are yellow and are saggy. Dry roots are also visible.

Leaves
The next step after checking the roots is checking the leaves. Leaves should also be firm and have a deep green color.
We also need to check if on the leaves or in the ground there are no uninvited individuals. It's not worth buying an orchid attacked by insects - it can destroy our other flowers in the house, as well as introduce additional costs for spraying. You should also check if the leaves are not damaged.
